Cleft, Trauma & Scar specialist ranging from cleft lip to dog bites to chicken pox scarring.
Lips affected by a cleft lip, previous surgery, dog-bite injuries or other forms of trauma and scarring often require a very different approach to standard lip filler treatment.
Scar tissue, changes in shape, loss of volume and differences in symmetry can all affect the structure and movement of the lip. For this reason, treatment needs to be carefully assessed and planned around your individual anatomy rather than using a standard filler technique.
My approach focuses on subtle, considered correction rather than simply adding volume. The aim is to improve balance, definition and symmetry while respecting the natural structure of your lips and the areas affected by scar tissue, surgery or previous injury.
Why a Different Approach Matters
Every lip is different, and scar tissue can behave differently from untreated tissue.
Previous cleft lip surgery, reconstructive procedures, dog-bite injuries or other trauma can result in changes to the lip border, volume, projection, movement and overall symmetry. These factors can influence where and how filler should be placed.
Treatment may help improve:
- Asymmetry
- Uneven or reduced volume
- Areas of indentation caused by scarring
- Reduced projection
- Irregularities in the lip border
- Cupid’s bow definition
- Differences caused by previous surgery or trauma
- Overall lip balance and proportion
The goal is usually refinement and improved balance rather than a dramatic change.
Your Consultation
You do not need to know exactly what treatment you need before booking.
During your consultation, I will assess your lips at rest and in movement, discuss any previous surgery, injury or scarring, and listen to the areas that concern you.
I will explain what may realistically be achievable with dermal filler and whether treatment is suitable for you.
If treatment is appropriate, a personalised plan will be created based on your anatomy, scar tissue, previous treatment history and individual goals.
Considering Lip Filler Following Cleft Lip Surgery, Trauma or Scarring?
Whether you were born with a cleft lip, have scarring following a dog bite or other injury, have undergone previous lip surgery, or have simply been told your lips are “too complex” to treat, you are welcome to book a consultation.
The focus will always be on careful assessment, realistic expectations and subtle treatment tailored specifically to you.
